![]() ![]() Unusual vintage mid-1970’s Penco 6 string Guitar, version A-16. This is one of Penco’s higher end guitars but don’t get you hopes up to much as Penco’s do not maintain a high resale value. Wow, pretty guitar and it’s a triple back to boot. I have seen this label on acoustics, but on nothing of this quality. The label inside the F hole has an Atlas emblem and model number AC-2, a penciled serial number, and Atlas Musical instrument 319 West John Street, Hicksville, Long Island, NY. They were student-level items, and were generally copies of popular American style guitars. Penco guitars were 1970’s instruments built in Japan. Very busy weekend here at the house, and no end of trips to the doctor lately.
